COMENZAMOS NUESTRO NUEVO PROYECTO  ETWINNING
NEWS ON THE SPOT

Many stories compete for journalists’ attention, from sports events to breaking news, but due to limited time and resources, students will need to decide which news to cover. Student journalists must also decide which stories are legitimate to avoid amplifying information that is false or misleading or that fails to meet standards of credibility.

Our teams of students ( Managing editor, reporters, writers, reviewers, editors, proofreaders, photographers) will collaborate online, research, design and create magazine articles, reports, interviews, etc. They will work in international teams and use different ICT tools to create the newspaper or videonews.

AIMS

- Students will  learn and share the abilities needed to be smart, active consumers of news and information and equal and engaged participants in a democracy by developing news literacy, learning the difference between fact and opinion and misinformation.

- improve their communication skills in English (writing, speaking, reading and understanding different sources for their news reports)

- improve their collaborative skills / workgroup /teamwork

- Develop active citizenship

- develop creativity, social skills and entrepreneurship

- develop ICT competences using a varied range of online tools to communicate, exchange information and collaborate

- develope eSafety awareness and using netiquette, learning how to avoid copyright breach and how to find and use public domain and cc materials.

Work process

We’ll work from October to June, an issue of the magazine will be issued each term if possible.  The students will work in international teams and write the articles or shoot the videos . Each partner of the project will give ideas for activities in preparation of the students’ work.

EXPECTED RESULTS

A magazine about different topics linked to the students’ interests and news of the world will be created by the students with alternatively some videonews reports.
